Terms of use
Short, plain, and mostly about one thing: only put in a story what belongs to you, or what you have permission to keep.

Using Lifereel
Lifereel is a private archive for life stories. You need an account to open a volume, and accounts join an organization by invitation or by a join code given to them by its owner.
Your material stays yours
You keep every right to the text, photographs, recordings and documents you add. Lifereel stores and arranges them to build your volume; it does not claim ownership, sell them or publish them.
Stories about other people
If you make a volume about someone else, you need their permission and must record who the subject is and whether they have approved. Do not add material about a living person who has refused, or material you have no right to hold.
What you must not upload
Anything unlawful, anything you do not have the right to keep, or material intended to harm or expose another person. Volumes are private, but that is not a licence to store what you could not lawfully hold anywhere else.
Editor and reader roles
Within an organization, the person who started it decides who edits. An editor can file and change entries, chapters and narration; a reader can propose material, agree and comment. Do not use an editor account to change someone else’s account or organization settings.
Availability and changes
Lifereel is offered as it stands. Features may change or be withdrawn. Download a copy of anything you would not want to lose — the download is the readable, self-contained record of a volume.
Ending use
You can delete a volume at any time, and it cannot be recovered. An organization owner can ask for their archive to be removed from the contact page.

Begin
One photograph is enough to start.
Open a volume in your own name and add the first thing you have. Everything stays private to you and the people you invite.
