About

A life, kept in order — and kept private.

Lifereel is a private archive for one person’s story. You bring the material. It dates it, gathers it into chapters and reads it back to you.

Most of a life sits in scattered places: a résumé, a stack of letters, a diary, an immigration record, a photograph with a name pencilled on the back. Lifereel takes any of these and places what is inside them on a timeline — beginning with nothing more than a date, a place and the people named in it.

Where the material is silent, Lifereel does not fill the silence. It asks one plain question instead — roughly which year was this, where was it taken, who else was there — and files your answer as it stands.

How a volume is made

  1. 01Bring the material. A document, a photograph, a recording, a letter, or simply a memory you type out.
  2. 02It gets dated. Dates, places and names are taken from the material itself. Anything unclear becomes a question.
  3. 03Chapters form. Entries are grouped by period and narrated only from what the person’s own material says.
  4. 04You read it, or listen. Listen mode reads the chapters aloud over your own photographs, in order. Nothing is generated.

Who it is for

Families

One volume, many contributors. Editors file, readers propose and agree.

Gifts and memorials

A volume about someone else, made with their approval recorded in the app.

Clubs and teams

An organization archive where members add photographs and memories of shared years.

Historians and researchers

Study volumes where the material is the subject, kept with its sources attached.

What it will never do

It will not invent a memory, generate a photograph or a face, publish a volume, or show one to anyone outside the organization it belongs to. There is no public link, no feed and no advertising.

Begin

One photograph is enough to start.

Open a volume in your own name and add the first thing you have. Everything stays private to you and the people you invite.

Lifereel keeps life stories private. Nothing in a volume is public, indexed or shared outside the organization it belongs to.
